The First Day of “Startup Days” Has Kicked Off

The “Startup Days” innovation event, organized with the participation of students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the Turkey–Azerbaijan University, and the National Aviation Academy, has officially kicked off today at the AzTU Incubation Center in partnership with the Startup Azerbaijan platform.

Startup.az reports that the event took place in a highly dynamic and engaging atmosphere, bringing together students interested in innovative ideas, along with mentors and industry experts.

Delivering the opening speech, Osman Gunduz, Advisor to the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University on Digital Affairs and Head of the Startup Azerbaijan platform, spoke about the development of the startup ecosystem in the country, the importance of involving young people in innovative initiatives, and the significance of such events.

During the continuation of the event, AzTU Incubation Center Coordinator Azad Musayev provided detailed information about the course of “Startup Days.” Acting as a moderator, he listened to the startup ideas presented by students and led the competition stage. Following short pitches by participants, a voting process was conducted to identify the most promising ideas.

The main focus of the first day was the startup idea competition. A total of 44 innovative ideas were presented by students. Based on the results of expert and student voting, eight of the most promising ideas were selected to advance to the next stage.

Teams were formed around the selected ideas, and with the support of mentors, experts, and trainers, participants began developing initial prototypes and business models. The first day proved to be both intensive and productive in terms of creativity and practical preparation.

Within the framework of the event, Rahid Alakbarli, Azer Bayramov, Shamkhal Aliyev, Rashad Aliyev, Etibar Seyidzadeh, Rasim Abdullayev, and Hikmat Fattayev shared their experience with students, providing guidance on team building, idea development, and the upcoming stages.

On the second day of the event, teams will present their projects to the jury, where ideas will be evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, implementation potential, and business value.

The main goal of “Startup Days” is to contribute to the development of the startup ecosystem in the country, encourage active participation of young people in idea generation and business creation, and stimulate the formation of new startups.
