Shahin Aliyev: “There is strong interest in a local cybersecurity startup in Europe.”
A number of European countries show serious interest in Azerbaijan’s cybersecurity startup “Cypho”.
Startup.az reports that this was stated by Shahin Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, during the 6th graduation ceremony of the Cybersecurity Center while speaking to journalists.
According to him, based on the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) report, Azerbaijan has risen 40 positions in the cybersecurity ranking in recent years and is now above the global average: “In this ranking, Azerbaijan has surpassed a number of leading countries. The adoption of a national strategy, strengthening of human resources, and structural reforms in state institutions have been cited as key factors ensuring this rapid progress.”
Sh. Aliyev also noted the growing international interest in local cybersecurity products: “In particular, there is serious interest in the local cybersecurity startup ‘Cypho’ from Türkiye and several European countries, and negotiations in this direction are ongoing. In addition, interest in the center’s operational model is also being observed from Central Asian and African countries.”
