Seminar on FIDO2 and Passkey Technologies Held at AzTU Incubation Center
A seminar dedicated to one of the most актуal topics in cybersecurity was held at the Incubation Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was titled “The Future of Authentication — Phishing-Resistant Access with FIDO2 and Passkey Technologies.”
Startup.az reports that the keynote speaker was Dr. Emin Huseynov, a well-known cybersecurity expert. He currently serves as a Senior Researcher at AzTU’s Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and also holds the positions of CTO and CSA at the Swiss company Token2 Sàrl. Dr. Huseynov has more than 20 years of professional experience in authentication and information security.
During the seminar, the principles behind FIDO2 standards and passkey technologies were explained in detail, along with their advantages over traditional password-based authentication systems and the high level of protection they provide against phishing attacks. Practical examples and real-world use cases were presented to demonstrate the application potential of modern authentication solutions.
The event was primarily aimed at students interested in cybersecurity, information technologies, and artificial intelligence, and it was met with strong interest from participants. The seminar concluded with interactive discussions and a Q&A session.
It was noted that the seminar was organized by the AzTU Incubation Center and is part of a series of initiatives focused on fostering innovation, startups, and technological knowledge development at the university.
