Positive Opinions Issued for Startup Certificates to 8 Entities
The next meeting of the Expert Council on the issuance of Startup Certificates has been held. During the meeting, the applications of 9 business entities that submitted documents to the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) to obtain a Startup Certificate were reviewed.
Startup.az reports that authorized representatives of the applicants delivered brief presentations on their projects. Based on the Expert Council’s evaluation, it was recommended that Startup Certificates be issued to 8 entities. The certificates will be granted by KOBIA on the basis of the Expert Council’s positive opinion.
According to the information provided, a total of 255 business entities have so far been awarded Startup Certificates. The startups and projects that have received certificates can be viewed on the Startup Azerbaijan (startup.az) portal.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the legislation, holders of Startup Certificates are exempt from profit and income taxes on revenues obtained from innovative activities for a period of three years.
