Description

The mission of Baku State University is to train highly qualified pedagogical, engineering-technical, and scientific specialists who have acquired fundamental knowledge in multidisciplinary continuous education and scientific research in accordance with world standards, possess innovative research skills, are competitive in both international and national labor markets, and are nurtured with a spirit of patriotism.

By preserving the fundamental education model as a generator of science, education, economic, and social processes, the main objectives of BSU’s policy are as follows:

• To create a new model of an innovative higher education institution where the educational process, as well as fundamental, exploratory, and applied scientific research, is based on the modern achievements of world science;

• To ensure a high level of education based on international standards and the prospective needs of the individual, society, and state;

• To prepare and retrain competitive specialists, scientific and scientific-pedagogical, and engineering-technical personnel at world-class standards capable of operating and developing professional fields in line with advanced technologies and achievements according to European and global trends;

• To train individuals who are worthy citizens of the country;

• To improve management and administrative systems.

The quality policy in education and science at BSU is an integral part of the university’s strategy and serves as the foundation for planning its educational activities.

BSU is a participant in the “Skills for the Future” project implemented by the Innovation Center operating under the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The aim of the “Skills for the Future” project is to enhance human resource potential in the field of innovation and to support innovation activities in education. Additionally, it seeks to support students in developing their innovative ideas during the educational process and to guide them toward discoveries and inventions that play an important role in the technological development of the country.

The project consists of two components:

1. A mentoring program for training university teachers as mentors.

2. Incubation programs with mentor participation to nurture students as startup founders.
