Baku Higher Oil School was established to meet the demand for highly qualified engineering personnel with education in English, trained under modern curricula and training technologies, for SOCAR’s expanding activities in Azerbaijan and abroad, as well as for other industrial sectors of the country.
Over the past period, BHOS has also managed to create an infrastructure that meets the most modern requirements, form a capable management and teaching staff, and implement a series of motivational and mobilizing activities to enhance the teaching motivation of professors and the learning motivation of students.
Cooperation with local and foreign companies, regular training sessions and lectures conducted by professional specialists, students’ high achievements not only in education but also in various social projects, the trust earned in a short time among the public, and other such accomplishments attract Azerbaijan’s most intellectual youth to study at BHOS.
BHOS is a participant in the “Skills for the Future” project implemented by the “Innovation Center” under the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The aim of the “Skills for the Future” project is to increase human resource potential in the field of innovation, support innovation activities in education, provide assistance to students in developing their innovative ideas, and guide them toward the field of discoveries and inventions that play an important role in the technological development of our country.
The project consists of two components: a mentoring program for training teachers at universities as mentors, and incubation programs with the participation of mentors to develop students into startup founders.
