“Openwave” Open Innovation Hackathon Held
The “Openwave” Open Innovation Hackathon, organized through a collaboration between the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) and the Narimanov District Executive Authority of Baku, has successfully concluded.
The hackathon was held to strengthen young people's technology and entrepreneurship skills and to foster cooperation between government institutions and young innovators. It also aimed to promote an innovation-driven environment within public institutions and encourage the joint utilization of the potential of startups and individual talents in addressing public sector challenges.
As part of the hackathon, 15 selected teams presented digital solutions and functional prototypes designed to optimize governance and public service delivery in the Narimanov district. Participants developed projects addressing real-world challenges and proposed mechanisms that could facilitate and improve the work of relevant institutions.
The projects primarily focused on key areas such as the digitalization of reporting processes in local administration, enhancing communication mechanisms with citizens, and automating the registration and monitoring of infrastructure-related issues.
In the final stage, the teams pitched their solutions before a panel of judges. The winners were selected from a total prize pool of AZN 10,000:
- 1st Place (AZN 5,000): Digi Solution
- 2nd Place (AZN 3,000): ExaMinds
- 3rd Place (AZN 2,000): Conflict
The projects were evaluated based on criteria including relevance of the idea, technical implementation, innovation, and user experience.
